Conservative For Responsible Government

"Our county is a special place in the heart of Texas. The rivers and lakes, the fertile soil, the charming historical towns. Government needs to make it easier, not harder to keep our counties a great place to live and work."

Thank you for taking time to visit my website. Guadalupe County is a jewel of a county in the center of a rapidly developing part of Texas. It is surrounded by Bexar, Comal, Hays, Gonzales, Caldwell and Wilson counties. Bordered by Cibolo Creek and the San Marcos River, the Guadalupe River runs through it, creating Dunlap, McQueeney, Placid and Meadow lakes before flowing into the next county. It is this priceless resource of water (both in the rivers and the Carrizo Wilcox Aquifer that flows beneath the surface) that is of paramount importance to protect.

Guadalupe County retains the charm of the small town county seat of Seguin with an intact turn of the century downtown as well as a rapidly expanding urban setting in the west end communities of Schertz and Cibolo. The beautiful farms and ranches around Staples and Kingsbury to the north east and the charming New Berlin area to the south west makes Guadalupe county the perfect place to own a place in the country. But what makes this county so unique is it's incredible location. My interest in protecting Guadalupe county stems from the concern for responsible development and protection of our resources. There are massive developments already in the works and the opening of the toll road 130 marked the beginning of a whole new world for our once mostly rural county.

County government serves an important role in our community handling the duties of state government at the local level. For example, the Commissioners Court sets the property tax rate and county budget. They decide what county residents pay in taxes and control how it's spent. In addition they approve plats for subdivisions and development in the county both residential and commercial. If we don't want our county to look like a suburb of the surrounding counties or a commercial warehouse district, we must remain vigilant and speak out to help bring awareness to our community.

As an advocate of the citizens of Guadalupe County I will always remember it's your tax dollars and will continue work to make county and state government tighten its belt when times are hard just like your family and mine. I will continue to serve this county and state as an advocate for the people through organizations and boards. Common sense conservative, constitutional leadership, now more than ever, is key in keeping Guadalupe County a wonderful and vibrant place to live and work.

I would be happy to talk with you about your issues.

Thank You,

Robin Walker
